The Start Of Something Big
Hello and welcome to the first THRL newsletter. We intend to send
out each newsletter at the start of every month and it is our intention
to include only the most useful articles, news and reviews.THRL
is building up a substantial UK based horse racing link directory,
and we personally check and review each site. If you know of any
sites not currently listed let us know . There is a long way to
go before we reach the kind of content we are looking for so keep
checking the site as it is updated daily.
Featured website of the month - Tipsters Review
Every month we intend to feature a website of the month. From the
end of July we subscribed to a number of tipster services and found
the 2%
Racing Syndicate to be the only one to make a profit, for a
level stakes bet of £100 we made £1287.50.
The results:
Dawn Invasion 31/07/02 - WON at 12/1 e/w = £750 profit
Tancred Times 14/08/02 - LOST at 16/1 = £100 loss
Fayr Jag 17/08/02 - LOST at 3/1 = £100 loss
Timing 23/08/02 - WON at 11/8 = £137.50 profit
Phamedic 23/08/02 LOST = £100 loss
Golden Nun 29/08/02 LOST = £100 loss
Unshakable 30/08/02 WON at 8/1 = £800 profit
TOTAL WINNINGS at £100 Level stakes
= £1287.50
In our brief 4 week test, 2% Racing Syndicate was the only service
to show a profit. We are not sure whether this is representative
of every month and we would be pleased to hear of any more feedback
regarding this and other tipping services. I have to be honest after
since a great month, I am now a member of the 2% service. http://www.2percentracing.com
October Speed form ratings
Provided by Simon Walton of Proform
UK Racing form analysis
"All the horse's I note here are based on my own speed ratings.
I have created a list of median speed ratings for each class of
race for NH, Flat and A/W. The horses noted below are winners which
achieved a speed rating much better than my median speed ratings
for the class of the race it contested."
Explanation of Layout
The first line holds the horse name and the date / meeting that
the better than class rating was produced on.
The second line holds the Official Going and then my Adjusted Going
based on the speed ratings recorded at the meeting that day. The
figure in brackets is how many seconds per mile the track was speeding
up or slowing down horses at this particular meeting, this is the
going allowance. A going allowance of 0.00 would be perfect GOOD
going so a plus allowance would be faster going and a minus allowance
slower going.
The third line contains a summary of the race and the speed rating
recorded, along with how many points higher then class the speed
rating was, this is compared to the median speed rating for the
class of race contested which is also shown in brackets next to
the class of the race.
This months horses to follow, back each
one on their next 3 starts
BOREAS: 20/08/02 York
Official Going: GOOD - Going Adjustment: (+0.22) GOOD
Another good speed rating from BOREAS and the step up in trip suited.
Produced a rating of 86, which is +11 above this Class A (75) race.
ORIENTOR: 07/09/02 Haydock
Official Going: GOOD to FIRM - Going Adjustment: (-0.15) GOOD
I have followed this horse since last season and this year he as
proved a very good horse without winning. Produced a rating of 75
finishing 4th @ 33/1, which is bang on par for this Class A (75)
race. His previous ratings this year have also been top class with
another rating of 75 and two 81s, he is capable of taking
a decent race this Autumn and enjoys a bit of cut in the ground.
LADY BEAR: 26/08/02 Ripon
Official Going: GOOD - Going Adjustment: (-1.69) GOOD to SOFT
Produced a rating of 75 winning @ 6/1, which is +7 above this Class
C (68) race. Lady Bear runs very well in the Autumn and given similar
ground conditions could clock up a few wins.
